First-Hand Photos

Bruce just returned from Montana tonight.  He says the cabin is even better than he had pictured it.
The opening upstairs is the bathroom window.
Bruce is standing in the loft, looking toward the great room down below.  The logs go up 14 feet.
On Friday they still had one more part of the rafters to put in place.
The rafters are nailed together on the other side of the cabin.  And then they are lifted in place by the boom truck which can be seen in the next picture.
There will be two windows in the gable end.
The contraption in the front gets loaded with lumber and supplies and then hoisted up when they are working up high.
The opening in the roof is for the dormers.

See the barrel on the right?  You can also see it in the photo above on the left.  The workers keep a fire going in it all day.  When they have a coffee break, they sit around it on the logs and try to keep warm.  This is looking toward the road.  The lane is on the right.
